Basic types of yacht charter
The first and most important question is what type of watercraft do you want to rent? To help you understand the differences, first check the main boat types in our boat catalog.

A sailboat (or sailboat) is a monohull pleasure boat that relies on the power of the wind for propulsion. The sailboat is a weight-stabilized vessel with a ballasted keel. Almost all of our sailboats have one mast and two sails – mainsail and jib. Each sailboat also has a diesel engine for mooring or moving in windless weather. There are 1 to 5 cabins on board, a kitchen and a lounge. Find more information about Le Voilier on our blog.

A catamaran is a multi-hull boat having two parallel hulls of equal size and a connected area in the middle. It is a boat with stabilized geometry: its stability comes from its wide beam and not from a weighted keel. Sailing catamarans generally have one mast and two sails. Each cat has 2 diesel engines, 1 on each body, used for maneuvering. Our portfolio also includes power catamarans – a boat with two hulls, but without sails – traveling solely by engine. There are 3 to 5 cabins on board, a comfortable kitchen and dining area and a spacious deck.

3-motorboot-Boatico

A motorboat (also motorboat or motor cruiser) is a watercraft powered solely by a diesel engine. A powerboat may contain an inboard engine or have its engine(s) installed externally, containing the internal combustion engine, gearbox and propeller in a single portable unit . There are small motor boats without cabins (day boat) or larger boats with 1 to 3 cabins, suitable for a longer cruise. The motor boat is easier to handle than boats like the sailboat or sailing catamaran.
